Activity 3: Calming Strategies

Here are some things you can try to help the person you care for to calm down or redirect their energy when they are upset or agitated:

  • Pop bubble wrap
  • Count to 10
  • Write down how they feel
  • Go to a calming place in the home or quiet spot (bedroom, tent, bean bag etc.)
  • Have a shower or bath
  • Jump on a trampoline
  • Roll up paper in to balls
  • Run water on hands
