Depression is more than just a low mood. It is a constant feeling of sadness, isolation and despair and loss of interest that prevent a person doing normal activities.
Bipolar affective disorder is a mental illness with the highs and the lows as two “poles” of mood, which is why it’s called “bipolar” disorder. In other words, it brings severe high and low moods and changes in sleep, energy, thinking, and behavior.
